Summary of the 8th China Foundry Association Congress

The 8th China Foundry Association Congress was held in Shanghai on June 1-4, 2008.There are many leaders and foreign guests attending this grand congress. They are Jia Chengbing (Exec. Vice president of CMIF and president of CFA), Lu Yanxun (Special consultant of CMIF and president of CFA), Liu Beaching (Consultant of CFA), Zhang Shufan and Shao Ying (Exec. Vice president of CFA),Huang Tianyou,Zhao Lixin, Peng Fan, Yu Liangjun, Tang Yilin and Wang Jinxing, Mr. Kanetake Nakatani(Vice president of CFA),Mr.Gabriele Galante(President of IMF),Mr. Timo Wysock and Dr.Huang Gang(IFG). Mr.Zhang Libo,Exec.vice president and secretary-general of CFA, presides over the opening ceremony.

There are near one thousand representatives who attend this congress. They consist of domestic and overseas representatives coming from over 20 countries and regions, such as China, US, British, Denmark, Norway, India, Singapore, Germany, Italy, Switzerland, Japan, France, Taiwan and Hong Kong. The number of attendees is far more than that before.

China Foundry Association Congress is the upgrade of National Congress of Foundry Directors and it has been held for seven times since 1994. The name is upgraded so as to provide better service to members of CFA and lead the development trend of China foundry industry.

The theme of this congress is Construct Environment-friendly Foundries. Mr.Huang Tianyou, Mr. Zhao Lixin and Mr. Peng Fan are the presider of the main reports on June 1-2. Experts and Scholars at home and abroad have a deep communication around the theme.

The topic of the report of Mr.Lu Yanxun is Outlook of Development of Power Equipment. This report makes a detailed analysis on the development and prospect of our power system and points out that the demand on power equipment will keep a stable growth before 2020, especially the clean energy equipment like water and electricity, nuclear energy and wind. So undoubtedly, the demand on the huge castings will increase continuously.

 

 

Liu Baicheng, academician of Tsinghua University, gives a report on Environment-friendly Casting Production. This report concerns that the traditional methods of casting production pollute the environment, waste resources and endanger the society and indicates the ways and key technology of environment-friendly casting production (energy saving and emission reduction, sustainable development, have no influence on civilian and be harmonious with the nature and society).

 

 

The report of Mr.Huang Tianyou is titled Energy Saving and Emission Reducion in China Foundry Industry. This report makes a full discussion about the energy saving and consumption-reduction of the cupola, reusing the used sand and so on, proposing suggestions on regulating the policy on promoting energy saving and emission reduction.

 

 

 

Peng Fan, director of Kocel Group, makes a report on The Development Road of the Foundry Enterprises in the Global Competition. The report fully analyzes the current macro-economic situation and the development trend of foundry industry at home and abroad and presents a deep discussion of the development road of the foundry enterprises facing up the new global competition.

Mr. Kanetake Nakatani, Mr.Gabriele Galante and Mr. Timo Wysock introduces the current situation of foundry industry and experiences in environmental protection in Japan, Italy and Germany and analyzes the cooperating trend with the foundry enterprises in China.

Experts make a thorough analysis on the development trend and price trend of the original and auxiliary materials, the development trend of the foundry equipment at home and abroad, and the relationship between the development of automobile technique and foundry industry. They introduces the application of graphite casting iron on the engine, the environmental factors of foundry enterprises/identification of the hazard source and controlling technique, the application of robots, the training system of foundry industry talents and so on.

All the reports delivered in this congress are proactive and answer many confused questions of workers in foundry industry as well as points out the direction of the foundry industry in the future. The congress is wonderful and audiences continuously give their applause.

There are also five technical seminars in this congress and six seminars of enterprise exposition (in the new international expo center). As to the technology of castings of automobiles and motors, the energy saving and emission reduction technology of the cupola, the test and application technology of foundry materials, special casting technique, selection of foundry equipment and application technology, they make an effective communication and achieve a fruitful result. Every seminar is filled with audiences. The technical report is so insightful that it gets the unanimous approve from those representatives.

 

Automobile Casting Branch of CFA, Wear-resistant Casting Branch of CFA and Foundry Equipment Committee are founded during the congress and the 1st member meeting is held. Directors of every branch put forward the main work ideas and blueprints. The member meeting has passed 2008 Work Plan of every branch. The establishment of the new branch strengthens the position of CFA and the branch will play a more important role in the future work.

During the congress, those excellent technician and skilled foundryman who have made a great contribution in the foundry field has been awarded the 6th Liang Yi prize, the 3 th Sheng Quan Cup and VDMA prize respectively. Besides, leaders of CFA grant the plate for eight enterprises as the pig iron production base of China foundry industry.

The 8th China Foundry Association Congress is successfully accomplished on June 4, 2008.
